1990

1.04.1992 – Patent attorney Jan Wierzchoń establishes the Jan Wierzchoń & Partners Patent and Trademark Office.

Patent attorney Magdalena Pietrosiuk joins the partnership as a partner.

2000 – Our team grows, we move to an office at Grzybowska Street.

2006 – Dorota Rzążewska becomes the majority shareholder and Managing Partner.

2009 – Educational workshops for entrepreneurs ‘Got an Idea? You Got a Patent. You Got Profit!’ are launched.

The office in Wrocław is opened.

2010

2012 – JWP Group is formed, made up of JWP Patent & Trademark Attorneys, JWP Attorneys at Law and JWP Foundation.

2013 – We move to a new office in Sienna Center at Żelazna Street.

2014 – We are granted the ‘Employer of Tomorrow’ award in the 2nd edition of the competition by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and an honourable mention in the Family Friendly Company competition.

2014 – 2015 – JWP Socially Responsible project is carried out with support from the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme.

JWP adapts its activities to ISO 26000 standard.

A strategy for CSR activities and communication is created.

We get the ‘Green Office’ certificate!

Educational activities are further developed and measures are taken to promote work-life balance.

2015Offices in Gdańsk and Kraków are opened.

The office in Wrocław has its new location in Wrocław Technology Park.

2018 – Our name and corporate form change to JWP Rzecznicy Patentowi Dorota Rzążewska spółka komandytowa (JWP Patent & Trademark Attorneys Limited Partnership).

Our ownership structure is new with Dorota Rzążewska being the Managing Partner and the General Partner with limited liability. Other partners are Joanna Janoszek, Piotr Godlewski, Tomasz Grucelski, Alicja Kicińska-Fujawa and Anna Hoffman-Flatow.

The name and corporate form of JWP Adwokaci i Radcowie Prawni (JWP Attorneys at Law) change to JWP Kancelaria Prawna (JWP Law Firm).

2019 – Helena Gajek becomes one of JWP partners.

We are granted awards of Managing Intellectual Property magazine: IP Firm of the Year in Poland 2017, Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year in Poland 2018 and IP Prosecution Firm of the Year in Poland 2019.

2020 – We learn to operate in a pandemic, we launch free online consultations for entrepreneurs.

Dorota Rzążewska receives an honourable mention as Global Leader from World Trademark Review and Intellectual Property Magazine.

2021 – Iwona Płodzich-Hennig and Magdalena Maksimowska become JWP partners.

We get the Polish Advisory & Contentious Firm of the Year 2021 MIP award.

Dorota Rzążewska, Tomasz Grucelski, Helena Gajek and Piotr Godlewski are granted IP STARS award and Tomasz Gawliczek and Konrad Ptasiński get the IP Rising Stars award. Dorota Rzążewska is among the Top 250 Women in IP.
